About Dr. Buser

Dr. Buser is a Director of Research and Director of Regenerative Medicine (Spine Restoration) at Gerling Institute and a Research Assistant Professor at Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Grossman School of Medicine, New York University (NYU). She received her doctorate degree from the University of Ulm in Germany. Dr Buser obtained her executive MBA from Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California in 2021. She completed two postdoctoral fellowships: at the Institute of Orthopaedic Research & Biomechanics, University of Ulm, and at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of California in San Francisco (UCSF). Her research interests encompass clinical studies on spine disorders, their treatments and outcomes, and regenerative approaches for bone and intervertebral disc regeneration. Dr. Buser has co-authored over 145 published articles, 10 book chapters, and over 200 podium and poster presentations at spine and orthopedic meetings all over the world. She is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS), Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS), The International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (ISSLS) and AOSpine. Dr. Buser is an Associate Member of AO Spine Knowledge Forum – Degenerative and a committee member of AOSpine North America Research Committee. She is a co-chair of NASS Section on Biologics & Basic Research (term begins Nov 2022), a vice-chair of and a member of Research Project Management Committee (term begins Nov 2022) and a member of The Spine Journal Peer Reviewers Committee. Dr. Buser is a co-Chair of Education Committee within Lumbar Spine Research Society. She is a reviewer for several spine journals and an Associate Editor of Pain Medicine, Musculoskeletal, Rehabilitation & Regenerative Medicine Section.
